Number of Sites to Launch the Project
4NEW has zoned and earned the approval of three sites to launch the project in 2018. Planning has already started with them and everything is in order.


The Driving Force/ The Problem
The whole idea came up by the Earth Day, which was first celebrated in 1970. This geared the thoughts of the 4NEW team towards the environment. They found it very necessary to put measures in place to save the environment (earth). Currently, 193 countries are coordinated on the Earth Day Network working collaboratively to build awareness of the various environmental issues that impact us as a civilization. This movement has two most pressing issues which serves as the driving force of it. The issues are the global waste surplus and the global energy shortfall.

The Cause
It is of no doubts that over population has brought about the increase in waste surplus and energy crisis. As the years go by, the population of humanity increases with creation of industries which comes with industrial wastes. According to statistics, the population of earth by 2050 would increase by approximately 200% to 6.3 billion within 80 years since the inception of the Earth Day in 1970.

The Impact of Waste Surplus
The impact of waste on the environment cannot be overlooked irrespective of the amount of wastes produced. It adversely affects all aspects of the environment and a country. Let's take the impact according to the elements of the environment - earth(land), water, and air.

• Earth(land): wastes in whatever form(solid, liquid, gas) affects the land. This is very evident when it comes to agriculture when polluted lands make farming very difficult

           

• Water: wastes contaminate our water bodies which serves as source of drinking water to man. Aquatic lives are put at risks when water bodies are polluted with wastes. 

             

• Air: waste gets rotten and produces bad odor which is not good for humang health. Gases( CO2 and CO) which comes as end products of most industries tend to pollute the air and increase global warming.

The benefits of 4NEW project can be discussed under to broad topics - waste management and energy production.

Waste Management
With the waste management on the part of this project, our streets and environment in general will appear tidy and free from bad odors and pesticides which are brought about by wastes. Our lands, water, and air will be saved with waste management.  As in the plans of 4NEW project, wastes will be collected on daily bases and channeled to the site where they will be transformed into energy. With this, the issue of global warming will be curtailed.

Energy Production
Increasing industrialization and urbanization put a great pressure on the available source of energy which is not enough to sort everyone out. There is the issue where energy demand outweighs energy supply or production. With such a great initiation from 4NEW, all this will be brought under control.
